Eichelberger Field at the University of Illinois was named the 2023 National Collegiate Softball Field of the Year by Sports Field Management Association. Professional Outdoor Solutions is responsible for laser grading, aeration and topdressing for the field, working with U of I CSFM Daniel Thomas. The award is given to a natural grass field that exhibits excellent playability and safety, and whose managers utilize innovative solutions, effectively use their budgets, and have implemented a comprehensive agronomic program. The field was also chosen for the Big Ten Conference tournament.
